  Paula Caldwell
BS, RRT, RPFT



Paula Caldwell (nee Sterner), 57, passed on July 27, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Thomas, Sr.; loving mother of Thomas, Jr. (Jen) and Eric (Megan); cherished daughter of William and Marian Sterner of Spring Grove; devoted sister of Wendy (Lonny) Levin and Thomas Sterner; proud aunt of William, Andrew and Michael Sterner and Jake Levin.
 

Paula was a well-known Respiratory Therapist and leader in central PA.  More importantly, she was a manager known for her heart and compassion for both her patients and her employees.  Paula entered the RT profession via York College of PA School of Respiratory Therapy.  She returned to learning and earned her BS degree from Independence University. Paula served as director of respiratory care at Healthsouth Rehab Hospital in York, PA. from 1985-2006.  Her next interval in respiratory brought her to the Lead Therapist position at Select Specialty Hospital in York, PA.  Finally, her closing professional chapter was spent leading RT’s as Operations Manager at Wellspan York Hospital managing diagnostics, sleep and pulmonary rehab.
 

Paula was an active professional as a member or affiliate of American Lung Association, AARC, PSRC, and AASM.  Her professionalism continued as a NBRC item writer for the RPFT exam and a clinical evaluator for on-line RT programs.

She will be missed by all that knew and loved her!
